Heavenly Father hear my prayer
I know you are up in Heaven somewhere
Help me understand the way things are today
Lord please guide me in some small way.

Teach me love and kindness
Patience with those that do not understand
Put your words in my mouth
Guide me with your loving hand.

I try to walk your footsteps dear Lord
And your footprint wont fit my feet
I try to speak as you do
Yet all I do is weep.

I'll never be as you are I know that somehow
Like a garden that's neglected, a farmer needs to plow
With work and dedication I'll follow you each day
I pray most of all dear Lord you will show me the way.
