Christ has risen, hear our song
Of glorious Easter gladness
With the bright triumphant throng
Will cast away all sadness.

Springtime flowers tell us how
We must leave the sighing
As we pass the sorrow now
Of our earthly Father dying.

Mary kneeling in the gloom
Weeping, bowed with sorrow
As they gathered at the Tomb
Know not what holds tomorrow.

Seeking in the Lord they found
Now there is no more sadness
So much woe and grief abound
Yet He brought them gladness.

As that eve in sorrow went
Two disciples walking
Their saddened mind on Jesus bent
Of His love they were talking.

Until a Stranger on the road
While each heart was burning
Told of suffering here for God
And Heaven He was yearning.

All the Apostles met in fear
Sorrow they were bearing
Till the Master came to hear
The grief each one was sharing.

And though they thought that He was dead
He appeared they perceived forever
And He loved them though they feared
And would not leave them never.

Yet in all our sorrow here
Our grief was deeply pining
Through all the doubt and darkest fear
Easter sun was shining.

As we think of our Lord above
We feel His glorious affection
Know the power of Jesus Love
By His Resurrection.
