So many memories to enjoy
Of happy days gone by
Where children's laughter echoed
The aroma of apple pie.
Each child born so special
Nurtured with so much love
Watching them spread their little wings
One by one like a graceful dove.
The days were always busy
Going their separate ways
The nights they lay in slumber
I would lift my thanks in praise.
Holidays were so special
My cup runneth over with joy
The children were all so happy
Much teasing they would employ.
We lived in a house that love built
A home so full of love
The memories I hold close to my heart
I thank our Father above.
Now they have gone their separate ways
We are sitting at home all alone
Yet days gone by live within my heart
As I let my memories roam.
