Remember many years ago
When we use to play
Up in Grandma's attic
Where we would stay all day.
So many lovely things there we found
Furniture, clothes and such
But her trunk full of goodies
Is one thing we loved so much.
A
wedding dress yellow with age
Shoe's that buttoned up the side
A
bible laying gently there
Wrapped up and gently tied.
A
shaving cup and brush well used
Love letters with ribbon in tact
Pictures of all the days gone by
Laid gently in a stack.
Jewelry worn so long ago
Yet packed with loving care
Almost like they knew someday
Someone would find it there.
Hours we spent in that old brown trunk
Love permeated the air
When we left our hearts were so full of love
I
was happy we went up there.
So if you search Grandma's attic
Good luck with what you may see
I
hope memories will be waiting for you
As those that awaited me.
