Oh to go back
to the days of old
When things
were simple and fun
Mom washing
clothes on a scrub board
In the hot
boiling sun.
She cooked
three hot meals a day
Cleaned the
house at every turn
There was
time to visit neighbors
No worries or
concern.
The thing I
liked to watch the most
When the
neighbors came to sew
A quilting
party on going
From spring
time until the snow.
The beauty of
those finished quilts
On each bed
they covered with grace
That memory
will always stay with me
In a very
special place.
Those days
have long passed me by
But the
visions are always the same
Those
wonderful times of yesterday
In my heart
will always remain.
