If I could only take your place
And give you one more day
If I could only bear your pain
I'd do it right away.
I just can't seem to understand
And don't know what to do
The helplessness, the worry
Fear of the unknown too.
I need His strength to help me
Make it through each day
The words of love to comfort you
And ease your pain some way.
He knows you are our angel
The very reason we live
The gift of love shared together
What more could a family give.
We pray for a miracle
He performs them you know
I'll ask Him to touch you
For He knows we love you so.
My Dear Heavenly Father
Is it asking too much
To please hear our fervent prayer
Heal our baby with your touch.
And when the day has ended
We are never far apart
My child you're always with us
In each beat of our loving heart.
